Namaste dear yogis. Welcome to Varkala, the absolute kingdom of Ayurveda. We are nestled in a palm tree jungle bordered by one of the most stunning cliff beaches in the world. We aim to support your personal journey with daily yoga classes, Ayurveda therapies and spiritual ceremonies, all dedicated to your happiness.
Adishakti offers an authentic blend of Ayurveda and Yoga courses for beginners and advanced practitioners. We focus on the traditional parts of yoga. We feel that the yogic culture is losing its limbs. We empower traditional practices (bandhas, kryias, mudras lifestyle, yamas, niamas) and we believe that yoga and Ayurveda are like sisters and are linked together. This is the reason why our courses are based on this combo. We teach and share with our students how to live and build-up the ayurvedic lifestyle with authentic knowledge and wisdom.

EXCELLENT Based on 105 reviews Posted on Tim P19/02/2026 Relaxing retreat I stayed for 3 weeks and had a great time with a mix of yoga, Ayurvedic oil massage, sound healing and meditation. We went kayaking and visited some temples as well. I also did a 7 day juice fast. Great value 🙏👍Posted on Paul I15/02/2026 Yoga, mediation, beach, beautiful staff, balance I loved Adishakti — the experience was exactly what I needed. I booked a five-day retreat to see if it was right for me and ended up staying eight days. It was such a beautiful experience, with complete permission to participate as much or as little as you need. Each day included two Hatha yoga sessions, along with meditation and breathwork. The daily Ayurvedic treatments were incredible and deeply calming, and I also loved the sound bathing and meditation sessions. The owner facilitates a very person-centred experience, based on who you are and where you’re at. He took a gentle, curious approach to understanding what would support my experience, comfort, and balance. For me, this included an early morning boat ride to watch the sunrise, visiting temples and Ashrams, and some late-night fresh food shared with great company on a local beach. Others also went canoeing at sunset in the backwaters. Between yoga and treatments, I would wander down to the beach (about a seven-minute walk) and swim every day. This is not a champagne, “hippy” experience — it’s authentic, and the meaning behind the yoga and practices comes through in a grounded, gentle way. The accommodation is simple and comfortable, with cool rooms for the heat, hammocks outside, and staff always on hand to support any requests. When I went walking, staff would often check if I wanted a lift, which felt incredibly caring. I absolutely loved the food — so filling, tasty, and beautifully balanced. You can ask for more if you want, but I never needed to (and I have a big appetite!). Rooftop yoga was a highlight, surrounded by lush green canopy and the sounds of India all around. I’m deeply grateful to Binoy and the entire team for their kindness during my stay. They are truly special people, and this experience will stay with me for a long time. Paul (Melbourne, Australia)Posted on Sam S07/02/2026 A lovely stay We had a lovely week staying with Binoy. Everything was relaxed and easy, and Binoy went out of his was to make sure we had everything we needed. A lovely guy and an enjoyable, smooth trip.Posted on Roving0473502575223/11/2024 10 Day Ayurvedic Cleanse - The food is incredible. - Service is first rate. - Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. - Treatments are carried out with care and will leave you feeling serene. - Classes are powerful, insightful and will leave you feeling clear and open. - Rooms are well kept. Adishakti Yogashala now feels to me like a home away from home, it may sound cliche but my stay here was transformative, I left feeling clean and clear in my body, mind and soul.Posted on Culture0782946294913/11/2024 Wonderful! I had the most wonderful stay at Pachamama. The team supported our group from Australia through a 10 day Ayurvedic cleanse. Everything from the accomodation to the food, treatments, and yoga classes were nurturing. Every team member brought something unique and special to the experience. A huge thank you to all of them. I can’t wait to come back!Posted on Anne C11/11/2024 In the home of Ayurveda - a place where magic happens A lovely place to enjoy the homeland of Ayurveda. We stayed at Pachamama for 2 weeks- my first time to India. We enjoyed a warm welcome and was taken care of whilst we completed a 10 day cleanse. The homestead was wonderfully run with care and consideration. Rooms are basic with a comfortable bed and bathroom and a beautiful view into the gardens at the front of the building which sets it back from the street. The food was made with love and delicious! The coordination of class , teachers and treatment was without fault and our experience was top rated. Thank you to all involved with tne running of this magnificent retreat!Posted on Departure1568762549010/11/2024 Beautiful and peaceful homestay Beautiful and peaceful place, many cafes and restaurants nearby. Very close to the beach. The yoga classes were nice and relaxing. The manager also helped to arrange any other activities that I wanted such as taxis, city tours and surfing classes.Posted on Brooke F07/11/2024 I love this place! I love Varkala!! Gracias!!Posted on CocoV702/05/2024 Wonderful experience highly recommended Very beautifull Place, excellent vegetarian food and great teachers, great cooking class and excursions, so would highly recommend, but maybe between November and February/March as April is quite hot weather 😊
